My journey with MVE Group began back in 1977 when I was hired as an electrical apprentice. Along with growing in my craft and gaining field experience, in the late 70’s I took evening electronic courses at Thaddeus Stevens School of Technology and in the early 80’s I studied accounting evenings at Franklin and Marshall College. In the mid 80′s I had a significant role in starting ESCO Security and had the privilege of becoming a partner in the organization. I spent many years as the main contact for many of our customers, managing projects and developing our installation crews. In January 2011, I took on the role as President and CEO as requested by the MVE Group Board of Directors.

I believe my years of customer service and my ‘blue collar background’ allow me to find the balance necessary to inspire our staff to provide great customer service. As we can, I also encourage our staff to engage with associations and non profits to make our community and our world a better place. I currently enjoy serving as Chairman of the Board for the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. Keystone Chapter.

I began working at MVE Group as the Business Manager back in 2002. In 2011 I took over the role as Chief Financial Officer. My responsibilities include budgeting, planning, and financial management. I enjoy analyzing costs and ensuring that we are a financially responsible organization that our customers and suppliers want to partner with.  I highly support MVE Group’s commitment to sustainability; we care about making smart decisions such as reducing our electrical usage.

To me the best part of working at MVE Group is working with quality people. No one is perfect, and it takes a quality person to speak up in a meeting and own their mistakes.  I feel this creates trust in our group. In addition, we have quality electricians and technicians that can take on difficult jobs; I’ve seen them step up to challenges and not shrink away. Each day I strive to earn the respect of my peers, do my best and hope others see and appreciate it.

I enjoy the challenge of navigating through change. Typically people don’t like change, but I believe it creates an environment in which an organization can grow even stronger. One change I assisted with in recent years was implementing MVE Group’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan. MVE Group’s Board of Directors appointed me as a trustee, which includes overseeing the ESOP trust and looking out for the best interests of all the employee owners. As the ESOP journey continues, I look forward to seeing our employees reach retirement with a sizeable retirement amount. Outside of the office I enjoy hunting, motorcycle riding, my sons’ sports, church, visiting in-laws in Rhode Island, and helping those that have not.

My background in electronics and communication began while I was serving in the US Army for eight years. Following that, I worked in the alarm industry for 17 years; five of which have been here with MVE Group. I started at MVE Group as an alarm installation technician for our ESCO Security division.

Currently I serve as the Director of Human Resources for MVE Group. My responsibilities include all things employee related: hiring, training, safety, employee relations, employee benefits, and more. This position has been a great fit for me because I enjoy working closely with people. One of the greatest rewards in my job is seeing employees succeed and advance in their careers. Outside of the office I enjoy wood carving, camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with my family.
