Second Wing Program
Several years ago, MVE Group formed a program called The Second Wing. The Second Wing program enables employees to take time off to serve our community. MVE Group has supported numerous employees in both local and foreign volunteer efforts.
How the Second Wing program works:
- Employees may take off, to help with a volunteer effort, for a period of up to two weeks.
- MVE Group will pay for all of the employee’s travel expenses.
- MVE Group will compensate the individual for half of their normal wages for the duration of the project, asking the individual to volunteer the other half of their time.
MVE Group’s CEO Barry Miller shares why he is passionate about the program:
“The 1st wing to making our extraordinary middle class story fly is ownership, and that is exactly why we have set up the Employee Stock Ownership Plan. I believe the next generation of MVE Group can take the company even further than the original owners did. If ownership is one wing, than giving back to our community and the world is the other wing to make this story fly. My desire is that each team member at MVE Group would share in the commitment to serve, and consider their role in improving our world with some degree of satisfaction. As Americans we are very blessed, and we would be extremely unwise not to find ways to share.”
