Ferguson and Hassler and Meadow Valley Electric partnering on an innovative energy saving project.Posted on Saturday, March 31, 2012 | No Comments
Ferguson and Hassler and Meadow Valley Electric are also partnering on an innovative energy saving project: installing a generator at their grocery store in Quarryville. The generator will have the capacity to run the entire store in the event of a power outage. Another added benefit is that Ferguson and Hassler is able to enter into the Demand Response Program with PPL. This means that in the middle of the summer, when the electric grid is overloaded, PPL can ask the grocery store to go offline for a period of time, a service for which they will be reimbursed. By participating in the program, over time Ferguson & Hassler will be able to recoup their initial investment in the generator from the Demand Response payments.
Stay tuned for more details; pictures will be posted on the MVE Group website as the project nears completion. Ferguson & Hassler is an independent family owned & operated supermarket that has been in business since 1916.
