New generators power entire plant at Four Seasons Produce

Four Seasons Produce and Meadow Valley Electric partner on an innovative energy saving project: installing a generator at their headquarters in Denver, PA. Four Seasons Produce is one of the largest independent produce wholesalers in the country. To power the 262,000 sq ft distribution center which includes nearly 193,000 sq ft of refrigerated space, Meadow Valley Electric installed three Generac generators which total 1,800 kW.

When asked about the project, Randy Groff, Four Seasons commented: “We decided to invest in additional electric generation for reliability and to increase our revenue with the Demand Response program. These three generators will replace our existing 400 KW generator, and power the whole facility including our refrigeration system. The existing generator will be relocated to another Four Seasons facility. We have been a long time customer of MVE, and they have provided us with superior service and quality workmanship. We were happy to award MVE with this generator project.”

The Demand Response Program, through PPL, is a program which allows Four Seasons to recoup their investment on the generators. When the electric grid is overloaded, PPL can ask Four Seasons to go offline for a period of time, a service for which they are reimbursed.
