July 15th is National Pet Fire Safety Day.
We know that your pets are family, too. Of course, you want to keep them safe. Since pets can’t easily escape a burning home, fire safety is very important. Here are three ways to keep your pets safe from fire:
- Pet proof your home. Make sure stove knobs can’t be turned on by a pet’s nudging. Don’t leave an open flame unattended around your pets.
- Let firefighters know how many pets are in your house with a pet safety window cling or sticker. Keep it up-to-date.
- Use monitored smoke detectors to quickly notify the fire department when smoke is detected. ESCO offers monitored fire protection solutions, including systems with the Firefighter module shown below.
