Four Seasons Produce and Meadow Valley Electric partnered on an innovative energy saving project: installing a generator at their headquarters in Denver, PA. Four Seasons Produce is one of the largest independent produce wholesalers in the country. To power the 262,000 sq. ft. distribution center, which includes nearly 193,000 sq. ft. of refrigerated space, Meadow Valley Electric installed three Generac generators totaling 1,800 kW. The Demand Response Program through PPL allows Four Seasons to recoup their investment on the generators. When the electric grid is overloaded, PPL can request Four Seasons to go offline for a period of time in exchange for payment.
“We decided to invest in additional electric generation for reliability and to increase our revenue with the Demand Response program. These three generators will replace our existing 400 KW generator, and power the whole facility including our refrigeration system. The existing generator will be relocated to another Four Seasons facility. We have been a long time customer of MVE, and they have provided us with superior service and quality workmanship. We were happy to award MVE with this generator project.”
