When the system is connected to a central station, the business is monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The system’s brain is contained in a discreetly located control unit. The brain monitors perimeter and interior sensors, such as magnetic contacts and glass-break sensors at the entry points, and infrared motion detectors at vital interior areas to report intrusion. The brain also monitors fire, smoke and gas detectors. When a sensor alerts the brain of an emergency, the brain sounds a siren and/or activates warning lights, and simultaneously alerts the 24-hour monitoring service.
