MVE Group is honored to be listed among the top solar contractors in Pennsylvania.
The solar industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the world. It is a boon to the environment and a great way to generate power. MVE Group began designing and building solar back in 2009, but the passion for energy reduction evolved long before that.
When founded in 1973, MVE (Meadow Valley Electric) got its start in the business of providing electrical services through troubleshooting, installation and repair. As MVE began to grow, our focus shifted to not only delivering a quality service and installation, but also discovering ways for customers to reduce their energy usage and save money.
In 2009 we launched MVE Solar. MVE Solar combined our 37 years as electrical contractors with a focus on saving energy for area businesses.
In 2009, solar was relatively new for Pennsylvania with less than 8 megawatts installed across the entire state. Pennsylvania launched the PA Sunshine Rebate program that helped lower the cost of new solar installations which added more than 150 megawatts of solar through 2012. Even though the price of solar would fluctuate and incentive programs expired, our leadership team knew that the solar industry was going to continue to grow.
Fast forward to 2019.
In 2019 MVE Group partnered as a contractor to build the largest floating solar array in the United States at that time. This project was 4.4 megawatts.
By the end 2021 MVE Group installed more than 48 megawatts of solar since 2009. The majority of our projects are more than 500 kW and reside in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey. We installed just over 5 megawatts in PA alone in 2021.

Along the way, we have enjoyed opportunities to work with local farmers by helping them reduce their energy usage with solar. We have installed numerous solar arrays for schools, colleges, nonprofit organizations, and care facilities. Many of our commercial and industrial customers have significantly lowered their energy usage with solar and enjoy the benefits of net metering.
What’s next?
We anticipate solar energy will continue to grow in the coming years. We expect to see rebates and incentives that will continue to make solar more affordable. The technology will continue to advance and solar panels will become even more efficient and last longer. As a team, we are committed to discovering innovative ways to use existing buildings, parking lots, brown fields and even large bodies of water to help be responsible with our resources.
